Agave victoria-reginae is often nicknamed Queen of the Agaves, or Artichoke Agave. A medium growing, spineless and most desirable agave with dark green skin and white impressions on each leaf that look painted. Sharp black points on each leaf. This is a decorative and beautiful growing species. . Other descriptions call this a solitary agave, but it occasionally will produce offsets. All agaves die after flowering, but seem to take a century to do so, hence the nickname Century Plant.
