4" pots, shipped in careful wrapping. This grass is truly blue! Forms graceful mounds, with nice foliage all season. Great border plant. Larval host for zabulon skipper.

Life Span: Short-lived perennial
Fruit Color: Green
Phenology: Winter dormant. Forms dense clumps. Blooms in fall.
Habitats: Flatwoods, sandhill, wet prairie, cutthroat seeps, dry hammocks, disturbed sites.

Recommended Uses: Wildflower garden. Mass plantings.

Moisture: Moist to occasional dry
Salt Water Flooding Tolerance: Not salt tolerant of inundation by salty or brackish water.
Salt Spray Tolerance: High. Can tolerate significant and ongoing amounts of salty wind and salt spray without injury.
Soil/Substrate: Loam, Sand

Wildlife

Small birds and other wildlife consume the seed.

Larval host for zabulon skipper (Poanes zabulon).
