Adenia ellenbeckii, from the same family as the passionfruit vine, is a caudex plant from West Africa and Yemen with large leaves and bushy growth atop the thickened trunk. The small, cream colored, dioecious flowers attract butterflies. Protect from frost. Young plants should be protected from full, summer sun but older specimens can take more sun. This species is not related to 'Adenium', the popular "Desert Rose." Rarely offered species.
