Delonix regia | Royal Poinciana Tree | Madagascar Native

An iconic native tree from Madagascar, the Royal Poinciana boasts delicate, pinnate leaves and enormous, showy red blooms that cover the entire arbor in spring/summer. Dormant in winter. This tree can get HUGE - 40-60 feet with an equally large canopy. It should not be planted right next to sidewalks or driveways as it will uproot them. It is a member of the Fabaceae (bean) family and can thrive in relatively poor soils. Full sun for best form and flowering! Can you bonsai it? Yes you can!!! Makes an outstanding bonsai!  These are from seed, growing vigorously in 1 gallon pots. Shipped bare root.

We ship all orders Mon-Wed excluding federal holidays. If temperatures near you are below 45℉ we highly recommend adding a heat pack to your order. If temperatures will be much lower than 20℉ please leave us a note with your order asking us to hold your order until a given date as heat packs will fail at temps much lower than 20℉.
